doesnt answer your original whp question but may have some bearing on the real engine hp regardless of which chassis it was installed in.
I spent years selling Malibu boats one of our engine options was the LS1 first in Malibu's corvette boat then available throughout the entire line up.
Indmar ( engine marinization company we sourced the engines from) rated them at 375 hp , I believe they are allowed by law 10% fudge factor for marketing purposes.
I sold very few of them because they just didnt have the low end grunt to pull up a heavy wakeboard boat or recreational v drive loaded with people and ballast that our traditional sbc monsoon325hp & hammerhead 383hp had , power from off idle to 3,000 rpm is what these customers needed , this is why in auto cars the best bang for the buck mod is a convertor makes total sense to me now that I have owned a few ls1's in cars lol they make great power but its higher in the rpm's and was a bad match for a heavy boat trying to get on plane
they had great top end for a barefooter and were lighter than the iron sbc so I would recommend them to barefooters and to slalom guys for a smaller wake but at that time those sports had faded and wake sports drove most purchases.
Now the top offering is the LSA/supercharged 550 hp it pulls onto plane in a blink and is an absolute beast , we tried to order one in a 21 foot ski boat , the manufacturer built it for us then wouldnt deliver it after lake testing it - they were concerned about liability - it is a beast lol

So many numbers but I can't find an actual reliable source. Does anyone know positively what it is stock? I'm getting work done to my car & will be getting it back soon. It is getting dyno tuned & would really like to know the increase in power that I'm making. Dyno sheets or any actual proof someone can provide me would be really appreciated!

So I have been back & forth with people now. I am really wondering what the actual stock horsepower to the rear wheels for say a 2002 Camaro Z28. I've been told that the 305 HP listed by Chevy is to the crank. I've also been told that it has around 366 HP to the crank due to a 20% loss to the rear wheels so it would actually be 305 HP to the rear wheels. So many numbers but I can't find an actual reliable source. Does anyone know positively what it is stock? I'm getting work done to my car & will be getting it back soon.
