Question Will driver air bag still work if pass is removed?

I removed the pass. side air bag from a 98 Z28 and of course the airbag light is on. Since the driver is only worth a few pounds and I was hoping to retain the safety factor of the driver air bag, I left it in.

Can anyone confirm if the driver side bag will still work? If not, is there a way to trick the sensor into thinking that pass air bag is still operational?

Thanks
Eric

I don't think either one will work if there's a perceived fault in the system. I'm sure you can wire in a resistor so the system thinks the airbag is still there. That what I have done since I have a Momo steering wheel replacing my broken factory wheel. Not sure of the resistor value, since I bought it in a kit for the purpose of turning off the AB light.

Okay so the info I found says, more than 2ohms but less than 4.8ohms. So you need a resistor within that range.

Thank you very much. I have some resistors, I will try one and see if it turns off the light.
