I just bought 01 WS6 with 38k for 11,500, dealer wanted 13,900. If I were you i'd wait until the car comes up you really want. Don't settle because a month after you do the car you were looking for will pop up.
Long time ago I bought a 76 camaro, rare options on it low miles at a used car dealer, he screwed me the title was salvage when it came. Not a dam thing I could do about at the time, laws have changed now.

are 20,000-30,000 miles worth the extra $3k-$5k you will never get back? thats up to you. My car has 120k on it. I'm not worried because i plan on a rebuild with heads/cam eventually, until then ls1's have proven to hold up way past these miles and mine runs strong

I looked for about 4 months and picked up my 98 Z28 136k clear title, many mods and cost me $4k. Just to give you an idea, good deals do come up, you just have to be the first one to get there w/ cash in hand.
The only thing I would buy w/ a salvage title would be something dirt cheap that I would make into a race car or use for parts, thats just my 2 cents..
