Default Lost my lug nut key. Please help!!!

Hey there, i have a '01 Pontiac Firebird Formula and i lost my anti theft lug nut key. Was this a factory thing? Or is this an aftermarket thing? If Factory, can i order a new one from GM somehow?

I did the ghetto method of removing them for now but i'd like to use them again if i could. Thanks.

better off taking them off and getting a whole new set of lugs with a lock. if you cant find the key then just do that.

Honestly and its just my opinion of course but these locks are so easy to get off that if anyone wanted to steal your wheels it would happen with or without them on there.

Chaos and CO99,
Yeah you're right about that, but might slow the bastards down little though . Thanks.

I just bought a new set after accidentally stripping the edges off one. This seller offers the original GM factory set at what I feel was a great price with free shipping. Very impressed. It is cheap insurance against the amateur thieves. Every safeguard you take is a deterrent to them.

you can always knock on a smaller/tighter fitting socket with a hammer! who said cheap **** tools aren't good for anything.

If they are the factory ones, you can get a new key. You do have to have the ID number, a card was with the manual originally. The factory ones are pretty easy to take off, just hammer on a slightly smaller socket.

If they are aftermarket, like they have a weird shape and are smooth around the edges, they are toughter to get off. You can still get a key, but I'd look around to see what they are similar too and go from there.

Each company knows what to do in this situation though...

Good luck, same thing happened when I first got my car.
