Default 2000 Trans AM EGR question!

I have a stock 2000 trans am and my question is about the egr delete. I want to install some long tube headers and also an ls6 intake. I want to know if deleting the egr will cause any engine problems since ive heard that it would cause higher combustion temps which would cause detonation. Others say it wont affect anything. And if it does cause detonation problems would a tune fix this? I just need to make sure before i start modding, so any help and replies are highly appreciated.

No harm will be done. It might set off a check engine light, but it can be tuned out, and you wont pass emission.
