What's your preload? How old are your current lifters?

Default Lifters

The lifters were new, preload, I don't know, but the guy who adjusted them is a competent GM mechanic. He has tried different preloads to no avail.

Well, unless you have aftermarket adjustable rockers, they aren't adjustable. You have to measure and order different length pushrods. Are you sure he "adjusted" them?

Default lifters

Push rods were measured to be correct length. When I say "adjusted", I'm speaking in terms of the 1960's. I'm 67, this new tech is Chinese to me. Thanks
