Default Mods to LS-3 E-Rod motor for California

Looking to build a Porsche Boxster S with the Renegade Hybrids kit.
Figure to build it clean to pass the smog process.
What "improvements" can be done to add a little more punch and still pass smog down the road?
I have heard that these engines respond to a healthier cam pretty well
Just need to pass smog down the road.
Thanks guys

Something like a 218/228 115lsa +3, lift .598"/.570" it would have -7* overlap and a IVC of 41. Cam lobes are Comp Cam LXL #13156 for the intake side and XE high lift #3717. Furthermore, with a good tune smog won't be a problem at all.

You can also go with this Tick Performance shelf cam:

That cam is supposed to be listed with 5 degrees of advance instead of 2. 2 is for the cathedral port motors.
