lq4 with ly6 heads turbo build help ?
ok here goes... i recently picked up an lq4 and am planning to do a turbo build in a third gen. i found a set of ly6 heads in a junkyard and am planning on that route but i have questions... will the fact that the ly6 has vvt effect bolting them to an lq4 bottom end? if it does, will i be better off going with vvt or just deleting it? also will running an ls9 cam force me to use the later style front cover with the cam sensor in the front? will the vvt effect this whole set up? easy and cheap solutions please!!!!!

The VVT system basically has a cam phaser on the front of the cam. If you have a complete LQ4 motor, the LY6 heads will bolt on with the exception of the LY6 ports being square vs. cathedral in the LQ4.
