I did some research here and elsewhere online, and the conclusion I've come to is that the Haynes/Chilton manuals attempt to cover too many engines in a single book to really be comprehensive. I did find this one on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/271503066993, and I was just wondering if anyone on here has used it. Seems too good to be true since a paper copy from HelmInc goes for $200, but the ebay seller has a lot of good feedback.
Thanks in advance for any helpful replies

I have the factory service manual for my car and would buy it again if I had to. There is no way a aftermarket manual will have the same amount of info as the factory manual. With the internet the way it is nowadays there is quite alot of info out there on the 4th gen, but it seems I frequently answer peoples questions by looking in my service manual.
You say they're $200 now, have you checked Helm's web site? mine is still the same price I paid 5 years ago, $105.

Dammit, I was afraid of that. So if I get the three volume set, would I just need the Camaro/Firebird one or is there a specific manual for LS1 models? And what would be a fair offer to make on eBay? I don't want to lowball the seller.

The price seems to depend on the year you want. I paid less than $30 for a 98 set for my brother. I had to pay $90 for my 2002 set.

im a new member too the site but i see a post that ebay is a scam!!! i bought the 3 volume set from an ex gm mechanic and it was and is in almost mint condition!! way better than other manuals ive seen too date!! ebay sellers work hard for there ratings so i would not buy anything from anyone w/o some selling history!! have also found many links to other reputable parts dealers on there site also!!!but with that said there is always chumps somewhere!! really no different than looking out for urself in any othere kind of purchase!!

I didn't want to download the unknown software that the website asked me to download in order to download all the 2000 model year files at once. So I manually downloaded the first file and when I went to download a second file, that was when the alert came up from Norton 360.
Does anyone have the 2001 manuals on pdf?
