Default 2006 LQ4 Question

I read somewhere there was something that changed on the crank when going to a 2006+ Lq4 motor that needs to be changed back when swapping it into an F-body. I have searched and searched, and can't for the life of me find out what changed. I plan on mating it to a 4L80E. I want to swap an 04 or 05 into the 02 Camaro I have, and I know the 04+ uses the stronger rotating assembly. I recently stumbled upon a 2006 motor with decent miles, so I am wondering what changed. I am sorry if I am not 100% clear.

I do not believe there is any change in the crank. It was only the first year or two (99-00) LQ4 that had the longer crank to fit the 80e.

If there is something different on the 06+ crank, that is news to me.

I think someone makes a converter for the crank reluctor signal (Lingenfelter?) or you can pull the crank and change out the reluctor for the older style to match your PCM.

I thought that reluctor started in '05 though. When they started the newer internals, they also changed the crank reluctor.

a 2006 LQ4 uses a 24x reluctor crank. They still used the blue/green pcm which only works with 24x reluctors. It would have to be a 07+ NNBS 6.0L truck engine to have a 58x reluctor. An 07 Classic truck would still use a 24x reluctor 6.0L.

Good to know! Thanks! All I mess with are usually pre 05.
