When we picked up our SS last January, it had 39,000 miles on the clock and a few issues that needed worked out. We wound up squeezing a traction limited 11.54 at 119 out of it, despite floating the valves above 5800 rpm and a "level 2 rebuilt 4l60e" that couldn't hold power above 6000 rpm. It dyno'd 471 rwhp even with those handicaps, after we busted the differential.
Cincy Speed now has the car worked out, with a custom spec'd Brian Tooley Cam, BTR .660 springs, morel lifters, Performabuilt level 2 4l60, S60 rear end with 4.10 gears and narrowed 1.5 inches, and a new drag rear sway bar. With those changes, she's now putting down 430 wearing mickey thompsons and race stars.
The car's personality on the street has changed dramatically. It feels like an absolute beast and we're thinking easy 10's.
Who's ready for spring? I am!
