I have a 2001 Z/28 165xxx mostly stock except headers and short shifter. I've recently started hearing a ticking noise coming from my engine, I think. I can definitely hear it when I'm inside the car. It sounds like it coming from behind the gauge cluster or in the dash. When I go outside and try to put my head near the driver side valve cover I hear nothing. I don't get it. The only thing I can think of that happened was last week I was attempting to relocate the coil packs when I realized that I didn't have all the parts so I put them back on to the valve covers. My friend went to start the car when i realized I hadn't plugged in the plug wires to the packs. The car was on for 2 seconds before he shut it off. I plugged them back in and turned on fine. Then the noise started not long after that. Sorry if this has been addressed before but searched like a mad man but didn't find anything specific. Thanks in advance!
