How does the public view clean F-bodies nowadays?

I get a lot of little kids staring and pointing, kind of the way I use to when I was a kid.
As for the general public, most of them think it's newer than it actually is in my experience, they'll comment on how shiny it is, or how it looks like the bat mobile. Other than that I'll get a simple "nice car" most of the time. More than half the time people will call her a Camaro though...

^^^^ lack of nostalgia and the fact that they don't look old is why they don't garner a ton of attention on the street.
By the time my one year old daughter is 37 people will be drooling over my ride, which will be hers.

I believe a nice clean 4th gen deserves admiration just like any other clean hotrod or muscle car. They're by far on my favorite list, but I certainly give notice and respect whenever I see fine examples at car shows (or anywhere for that matter). They may not have nostalgia of the old or freshness of the new, but they're still part of American muscle history and deserve attention.

IMO I don't think the public gives a ****. But who cares I love my F body and it's sexy coke bottle shape & raked front windshield (Lamborghini) only other car with a lower raked front glass-

I just started getting the attention I wanted not too long ago. Lol when my Trans Am was stock looking nobody batted an eye....now with my personal touch, everyone loses their minds . Then everyone forgets I exist when my brother shows up in his cammed corvette xD Good times!

I get a good number of looks/comments on mine when I'm out in it. Like BrntWS6 above though, I have 19000 miles on mine and it doesn't come out much. I'm hoping for a few more looks at shows this year with the Fikse's that are sitting in my garage

My 99 Z28 gets compliments regularly and it's not even clean half the time. Its my daily driver with 199,000 miles on it, so I'm sure a good portion of the public likes them. Come to think of it, one guy told me he didn't like f bodies but there was something about mine that he just loved. There's nothing special about it, its bright red and black with the stock body kit and aftermarket wheels. It's been very reliable and I'll drive it til it's no more.

This. I always appreciate clean and tastefully modded cars regardless of make, but these cars carry a bloated/plasticy 90's look. They don't have classic car lines, nor the sharp body lines of the new gen cars. Not to say there aren't some very nice looking examples here, though.

I definitely agree that 4th gens aren't as attractive as the classics, but I find them to have superior styling as compared to most of the latest model stuff. Modern cars have high belt lines, short side windows, often with wheels too big, and are sometimes too tall or too narrow looking. For example, I find 5th and 6th gen Camaro to be a step down from the 4th gen stylistically, yet I view 2nd gen (especially '70-'73) Camaro as being superior to 4th gen.
