I'm new to this forum and ls engines. So I'm looking to build my first ls 1 engine and looking on line at other builds where I ran across a super chevy write up where they claim 535hp with 5.3 ported heads and a comp cam xr 265-hr cam. Is this bull#$%& or is it possible. I noticed a dyno pull numbers. Numbers seem far fetched. Or I'm I wrong?

That's crank hp so that can be easily done, especially with the tea 5.3 heads they used, a cam, and a fast intake that they used. So you'll have no problems getting 500hp to the crank with a decent set of heads, a nice cam, and a fast 102 intake.
Welcome to the forum man and I think you'll be pretty happy with your build

Thanks for the responses. I'm use to gen 1 and gen 2 number so I was a little taken back especially for a 5.3 head. I called TEA and they sold me on the 5.3 ported head. I find some of these article hard to believe at times. I'm looking to build my first LS 1 motor with a 500hp goal and I like not to be disappointed.
