L99/Ls3 in 4th gen camaro

Default L99/Ls3 in 4th gen camaro

Posts: 3Sorry guys I'm new to this but I created an account to ask a question, Wednesday I'm buying a L99/ls3 out of a 2012 camaro everything is coming with it, the wire harness computer and transmission, will all of that fit into my 1999 z28 camaro and if so how fast will my car be??

Well your Camaro is about 350 Hp and the L99 is 400 The LS3 is about 426 lose the VVT and AFM and it is a beast....

What does VVT and AFM mean?? So I can tell the guy who's performing the swap for me

how fast depends on a lot of things...but a LS3 would be low 12's, easily...faster from there depending on set up

I don't want much I just want my 4th gen to be faster than stock recent pos 5.0's.. I could buy a 5th gen but I love the 4th gen so much

Also there are 1 7/8 texas speed long tube headers with less than 10 miles on them still on motor do you guys think the headers will fit in my car??

VVT. Means, variable valve timing. And AFM. Means, active fuel management.

Honestly not sure. I have my doubts though. You're probably going to have problems with getting them by the K-Member and have ground clearance issues.

Aww man I was hoping they'll fit, I get the engine tommorow though..

Well. Not confirming it. If you have the time and patience go ahead and test it out and see what happens, you'll save yourself a decent amount of money if it works...you may have to make a few modifications to the Y-Pipe. I know F-Body longtubes as is have clearance issues with the K-Member, especially on the driver side where there's also the steering arm. Maybe a Tubular K-Member will make things possible, you'll also save weight.. but still no confirmation.

Call Texas Speed, they are goods folks to deal with, they might work out some kind of trade with you, they probably sell more new headers than old one ssooo they might have something that you can use and they will have headers they can move at a discount.. Just thinking out loud...
