Default What's with these wheel weights?

I switched wheels so I took these to the nearest shop to get balanced.
Why in the hell did they put weights almost 180 degrees apart?
And those two big ones next to each other are in the same spot on the other side of the wheel.

Sorry it's a ford, only one I have

BTW I smeared the black rtv on them because they're loose too.

Whoever did that must be inexperienced. What a horrible job. Definitely take them somewhere else.

Not inexperience, but being in a hurry/rushed by the boss. Starting out after with the first weight(s) on and then checking the balance on the machine, machine indicates too much weight was initially added and it's easier/quicker to just add a weight 180 degrees opposite. May not look right but will be balanced. Machines 'round-out' to a common weight and that weight might be on the - side, run it to check balance and now it's indicating on the + side so a small weight @180 will balance it. I've done it on common steel wheels but avoid doing that on aluminum wheels because of the appearance.

I put the wheel with the big weight on the outside on the front drivers side. Can't feel it too bad but can see the hood shaking.

Can't look at the car without knowing this crap is on there. I watched the guy do it. When he hammered the inside weights on, the outside weights fell off

I thought he should have rotated the tire on the wheel and started over, but then why bother when the weights fall off.

Guess what I'll be doing this weekend...looking for someone with work ethic.
