So I'm finding out the 2500s only came with a 4.8l or the 6.0 if they're a 1ton?

just curious if anyone knows if the 4.8l vans come with the 4l80? Or does only the 6.0 vans come with the 4l80?


are the newer versions of the vans with the 6spd automatics- are the transmissions good as strong as the older 4speed versions?

I need to buy a work van for my business I'm opening.

Yes, even the 4.8s came with a 4L80e in some of the vans.

As far as the 6-speeds being 'just as good' as the 4L80e, it depends on how you plan to use them.

I was just going to ask if anyone has ever heard of a 4.8 with a 4L80E.

I just called a guy at a JY and he said he had this combo and I was not sure if he was bullshitting me... He said it was out of a 2005 if that helps.

I know the 6.0's have 4L80E for all 3500's I have seen.
