Question How Can I Prep A Used Dash Pad To Prevent Cracking Before Install

I picked up a used dash pad because mine was toast. Save for wrapping it, is there any kind of prepping I can do, to try and prevent it from cracking, before I install it?

Take a look at this about dash pad refurbishment over on El Camino Central:

Not sure if this completely answers your questions or not, more about repairs than prevention. Lots of stuff on You Tube about dash repairs.
