Default Swap or not to swap

Recently I picked up my 2000 WS6, which is completely stock. I am moving my mods off my 99 SS and putting the SS as close as back to stock as possible.

Knowing the condition of the SS I estimate I can get 4K for it. (Engine is great trans is new. Paint sucks, interior is meh.)

I also have a 68 C10 with a great drive line 350/TH350 that I put in 2 years ago.

This leaves me with the option to either put together the SS and sell it or drop the LS1 and Trans and swap it into the C10.

I'm 50/50 on it. Opinions welcome.

That is a tough one. At first I was thinking that you should sell the SS in stock condition and start a 5.3 buget build and slap your TH350 behind it. But now that I think of it, you could use the engine/trans/wire harness, and ECU out of the SS and sell the SS as a roller. You should still be able to get a good price for it.

Are you happy with the setup in the truck? You said it was a "great drive line", so I'm guessing this is a healthy 350 and not a stock smog engine from the late '70s. I don't see any reason to go through all the swap work if you already put a nice setup in the truck, unless maybe you plan to daily drive the truck and want a modern stock EFI engine for better MPG and street manners (assuming the truck's 350 is built), etc.

I am pretty happy with the C10s set up. It's not a DD but I would enjoy the advantages of EFI, an overdrive transmission and be able to run 3:73s over the 3:08s that are currently in the rear without rpms somewhere in the 2500-3500 range.

The engine has a mild/wild cam, Holley intake and 650 carb, 2300 stall. Heads do leave something to be desired. Unfortunately I don't have the specs on the cam since I bought it from a builder that had a customer change his mind and it only had a few minutes of run time. Plus it has a pretty cool retro style valve covers and air cleaner.

Truck itself has a 4 wheel disc conversion, slight drop, some bolt on creature comforts and a few thing sitting on a shelf. Attached pic is from the summer. Paint looks good from 15 feet away but when you get close...

In that case, if it were me, I'd leave the current setup in the truck. I have a very similar setup (engine build, gearing, trans/stall) in my '71 and I like it. It's also not a DD, and I prefer the era-correct nature of it and don't really desire EFI or an OD trans in this dinosaur. But that's purely subjective.

That truck looks great BTW.

I have a 72' GMC Jimmy that I would love to throw an LS in. That's the selfish side of me. The angel on my shoulder would say to sell the camaro as is so someone else can have a fun f-body experience.

Thanks for the compliments and thoughts. I may end up selling the Camaro as whole and get some parts for the Firebird and C10. I can probably get a 700r4 (or built 200r4) and have enough to get some 243s plus have money left over.

I got looking at the engine pic and realized that I dumped a lot of money, time and blood into setting up the SBC.
