Looking for information to see if a pre 2009 5.3 will work in a 2009 Silverado 5 3. Not sure of the reluctor wheel count and what engine will work. Planning on doing a DOD delete anyway thanks

To make it easy make sure and get a gen 4 motor. Gen 4 has knock sensors on the sides of the block and the cam sensor in the timing chain cover. Gen 3 has a different reluctor on the crank and cam, has the knock sensors in the valley cover, and cam sensor at the rear of the block on the top side.

LS2 would be a cool swap for it if you can swing that.
