Default Lq4 with ls1 heads, is it any good??

So I'm building a budget drift car, I recently got a 2006 lq4 with 7k miles, it didn't come with heads , but I also have a set of ls1 heads laying around that I can use and I'm strictly limited to those heads, I will do some hand porting later on, but my question is if it's a decent combo, I would love to get some 243 heads , but for my application being a drift car, I don't see a point. I could have them milled if needed, So what type of hp, compression should I see, I was hoping for 400rwhp + with stock ls1 heads, getting the ms3 cam or something similar, and a ported ls6 intake, 90mm tb . Any input is appreciated, lmk what y'all think

I don’t think you would achieve 400whp with stock heads and dished pistons, but it’s possible.

I agree with KCS.

For that application welding up the LS1 chambers to get more compression might be worthwhile. Advanced Induction can do that for their ported LS1 heads. I don't know if they offered just welding up the chambers and CNCing just the chambers.
