Default What's it take to get an Fbody to trap 135+ at stock weights?

Just curious.

I know FI will likely do it pretty easily.

Can NA? 427 LS3?

I've got an 01 WS6 that I'm considering building/selling. It's just a roller right now. I'd like to build something that traps 135 or better. Trying to decide if I want to do it with this car, or if it'd be better to get into a different platform.

Thanks

With a full weight fbody I would think you'd need at least 650-700 rwhp to hit 135

On race gas high CR that should get ya there. On pump gas CR you'll need 100 shot or some boost!

Better question is how are you staying full weight and modding? With any kind of attention paid at all you can knock 200lb off these cars with ease. I went 131 with a bolt on ls6. Never got to run the ls6 in itsmost powerful form either. Probablyhad 132-134 in it.

I'm hoping the bolt on ls7 i just put in it gets near 140 if all is good with it once it's sorted.

I'm not full weight because dropping weight is better than adding power. Weight reduction helps all forms of performance criteria.
