Default Cleaning Valve covers

I have a set of used valve covers from a LS3 and they have some caked on dirt and grime on them. What is the best way to clean them up?

If it’s not too bad, I’ll hit them with brake parts cleaner. Stuff cleans everything, and I buy it by the case. If they are really yucky, I have dedicated parts washers for dirty parts or new parts. I clean everything, even new parts.

I'll sure some of that caked on dirt is oxidation as well. I had to get my Dremel and sanding discs to grind that stuff down to fresh aluminum.
