Does anyone know what budget friendly valvetrain pieces I could run on a 5.3 with a 224r cam? I heard LS6 Springs are good for mild cans but can they handle .600 loft reliably? And how about lifters? Can stock handle that? Thanks to anyone who can help

I would use some quality beehive springs and LS7 lifters. LS6 springs aren't recommended at that lift. Any of the sponsors here can hook you up. Ask them about upgrading your pushrods also. Hope this helps.

Summitracing

The factory LS6 springs wouldn't work with your camshaft since they hold a maximum of .560 lift. We would recommend a set of TFS-16918 beehive springs. These interchange directly and you can re-use your retainers and locks. These have more seat and open pressure which will increase your rpm capability. LS7 lifters are a good common lifter upgrade. Our kit with new trays and bolts is SUM-HTLSKIT. CMB-09-0029 has many of the parts you'll need for a cam swap such as gaskets, balancer bolt, LS2 chain and o-rings. We offer a new retainer plate and bolts SUM-150106.

We have .080 wall Chromoly pushrods or a higher level .120 wall 11/32 HDR pushrods. It would also be a good idea at this point to upgrade the trunnions if your using stock rocker arms. Our SUM-141560 is the bushing style kit and we have the SME-K-14300 kit that includes the good beehive springs, bearing style trunnions, seals and the trunnion installation tool.
