Hi. I have a 2000 trans am convertible auto. Have had it for 10 years. Upgraded suspention exhaust exc.... it’s not ws6 has 90k. Not worth a lot but I keep it in good condition. I want a 6 speed. Don’t know if it’s worth conveying or should I sell it and buy a different trans am. The problem is I don’t want to get stuck with a 20 year old car that some one abused. Don’t want to pay crazy money for low mileage car. What should I do?

If you like the car you have and don't plan on selling it then put a 6-speed in it. Like you said, You know what you have now.

Besides the transmission, what parts are needed?

If it were me I would try to find one with a 6spd. But then again, I don't keep cars for 10 years so maybe you're attached. My reasoning is that converting it will cost you a couple grand (3K ish) and then you have to do all the work too. Whereas you could probably find a 6spd car for less than the cost of the conversion, and maybe even upgrade.

Downsides to that are;

1) Buying and selling cars isn't fun for everyone
2) The devil you know.....
