Default How much power can a 4wd unit hold?

Sorry fellas, I know this isn’t a truck forum, but I don’t want to join a forum for one question. Figured one of you guys would know. I bought my son a clean *** 84k mile 2004 Silverado. Short bed, regular cab, 4wd. I told him in a year or so if he doesn’t wreck it or get any speeding tickets, I’d turbo it for him. Plans are just leave motor stock, valve springs and 7-10psi of boost. Maybe a baby cam later. Think the transfer case will hold that?

There are some in the 1000 RWHP range. But all have been swapped to 4L80E. Just change the input gear on the 4x4 case to a 32 spline.
Performancetrucks.net the sister site to LS1tech has a few of them.

Here is Atomic's truck. The ladder rack was fun....

He got bored with the big turbo and is working on a blower with twin turbo compound setup now... You can read up on his build here.

so in stock form, will the transfer case hold 500ish wheel? Leaving in 4wd high. Not worried about the trans.

Yes the tcase will hold. The 60e trans will not. I ended up swapping my RCSB Silverado to an 80e as well with the 80e tcase and never had issues after that. I did break the rear diff though. Here's a vid of mine launching. 4WD launches are addicting.
