That’s the question. Buddy blew his motor in his 14 Sierra Denali and now thinking of buying a wrecked 18 Sierra Denali to replace his drivetrain upgrading the newer engine and the Tranny to the 8 speed. Also having extra parts for the car. How much of a pain is it to swap in the more modern drivetrain? Figured someone here would know better than me. Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken it will be pretty difficult, The 2018 engine is direct injection and I'm pretty sure the 2013 isn't, If that's the case it's possible to make it work but probably not practical. It would be much cheaper and easier to just get a replacement engine like the engine that's already there.
You would be talking about major rewiring and adapting to make sure everything electrical worked, Then you would have to make the fuel system work since they are completely different. Not worth the trouble in my opinion.

I tired to Google it real quick, but came up with conflicting info.
I'm pretty sure the 2014 has a LS based engine, because only the Corvette got the LT in 2014 and then the Camaro got it in 2015.
If that's true, it's not a easy drop in and go...
Maybe someone can chime in that is sure of that info.
