Starters - whats the difference Looking into getting a starter, mainly for mockup on the ls1/t56 build. I would prefer oem since its readily available.
One issue is I'm not sure if I'm going to rebuild my LS1 im using or go LS3. I need the shortest, and most compact starter (and a bit of luck for fitment). I noticed we have tons of options for factory starters, or at least different part numbers for almost every car.. I've found a little info but not a lot.
can somebody educate me on the topic?

OEM was clunky and doesn't work with a lot of aftermarket bellhousings. I run the Jegs 10043 mini starter, it spins up faster than OEM while being lighter, overall smaller and more powerful.
