I'm doing a 5.3 swap in my 86 caprice I deleted the egr system but I haven't blocked off egr port on the intake I'm getting gas flowing thru the return lines and I'm getting spark but the engine doesn't start unless I spray it with starter fluid or gas then when it dose start it just cuts back off what should I cheek and do I have to block off those ports

Without the block off plate, I think you have an enormous vacuum leak. I think my block off plate is from Dirty Dingo but there are others for short money.
