Default Manual AWD Transmission advice

Hello. I own a 2005 Dodge magnum r/t. It is AWD from the factory but I want to make it a 6mt while keeping the AWD. My only thought is a STI transmission. Anyone know what else I can do? Also considering a LS2 or LS3 swap when the stock motor gives out. Due to the weight (4300lbs), AWD and my desired power (500ish for hp and lb/ft) I'm not sure a sti transmission would hold up very long.
Thank you all in advance for your wisdom.

The STI 6 speed is quite strong, right up there with a T56, but I don't think you're going to get anywhere like that. The STI has the CV shafts stab into the transmission itself, the LX platform uses a transfer case setup more similar to a 4x4 truck. You're going to have to get creative with a T56 and a divorced transfer case, or custom build a normal transfer case for it . Any way you slice it, going to be expensive and difficult.

Thank you JC316 I did some quick reading on the T56 and also discovered the related TR6060. Both can be bought or salvaged within my budget. Seen several builds were they got an LT with attached tr6060 but used a t56 anyway. Not sure why, but all were rwd. I am damned and determined to have awd though even if it's extra thousands.

Someone makes a transfer case adapter for the 6060, you might be able to call them and see if they can adapt the factory transfer case to the 6060. That would probably be the best solution.

I found them LOJ makes them. The transfer case is 2 grand. A tr6060 seems to be consistently priced at 4 grand. I am surprised that the best MT out there only holds 700 horses. There are tons of cars above that mark. How do they do it?

Likely rebuilt OE units to hold that power. Even the STI ones can break at higher torque levels.

What layout ? Subaru is transaxle.

Just fit transfer case to a Magnum or T56 type
