Yup. My Dad's Vette has a built 700-R4 trans with a high stall converter. Its quick, but it's nothing compared to the feeling of having the direct connection from the engine to the wheels. There's just too much slippage from the loose converter.

What was your stalled auto trapping at?? 12.5 is a great ET, but I doubt your trap speed was fast enough to be in sync with that time.
