Hi. I am new old school member of this site. And all the LSx stuff is kinda confusing. Is it just me or did i see an LS2 that is a 454 big block and others are small blocks. Could someone kindly explain the ends and outs of these engines. I am about ready to make my first LSx purchase and am as confused as ever. I am just used to all the 350 stuff fitting on other 350's...
. Thanks for your time.

If you saw a LS2 454 it is infact a small block.
I know MTI sells a 455 LS2 small block for a GTO package.
Big Bronco is building a 500 cubic inch LSx based small block at SAM.

I think ALL of you just confused him more.
All small blocks, all aluminum
LS1- 346 CI (5.7L)
came in:
98-02 Camaros/trans ams
2004 GTO's
97-2004 Corvettes (not Z06's)
LS6- 346 CI (5.7L) Same block as the LS1, but better flowing heads and a slightly bigger cam
came in:
2001-2004 Corvette Z06
Cadillac CTSV
LS2- 364 (6.0L) Similar block to the LS1/LS6, but bigger bore, giving it a few more cubic inches. These engines are commonly stroked to a 402/408. The heads are Identical to the heads on the LS6
LS7- 427 CI: 500 hp new ZO6 motor, It is based off of the LS motor series, but most of the parts arent as interchangable as the previous 3 I mentioned
There is also the LS4 which is the v8 in the new Impala SS's, but I do not know much about those (they are front wheels drive)

If your looking for a motor. Look to the site sponsors for a forged short/longblock.>>>>
I dont know if you read hot rod but if you want to stay old school with these motors, they still make huge power. Victor jr intake, demon carb, msd box, (insert LSX longblock of choice) = 500+ all day.
