weight of an LS1 engine and trans so what is the weight of an LS1 engine and m6 transmission.
I am selling mine, and am trying to get some price quotes on shipping for people.

I think a fully dressed engine weighs in the region of 430lb, manuals are heavier than auto's usually.
Not sure on the gearbox though. But depending on what you are including plus what you are going to ship it in will make a big difference. Remember the crate or packaging is normally included in the items shipping wieght.
Also are you shipping them as wet or dry? Fluids and make a noticable difference also.

The trans only weighs about 100lbs I think. You can pick one up and move it around pretty easily. A manual with a bellhousing/clutch is going to weigh more than an auto with a bellhousing an TC.
