wrong.

93-95=3.4

'95 models in California got the 3.8,

so 95-2002= 3.8

ditto
3.4, 160hp
3.8, 200hp

If your V6 Camaro was just a weekend car then getting the vette would be a no brainer. But if your Camaro is a DD, which I highly suspect it is, then stick with. More reliable, better mileage and like mentioned earlier you already know what shape it's in.

so much butt-hurt in this subject..

you haven't told us what you want the car for. If you want a weekend criuser or car-show entry, then get the vette. If you want a workhorse, keep the 6

Vette....a camaro will never be a sports car...no matter how much money you dump in it. Trust me, I did it and am now regretting it

Thanks everyone for their input.
I think he already gave up on the corvette and doesn't care about this thread anymore. Might be why he hasn't stated his purpose.

But general consensus still is, daily driver - stick with the camaro, weekend rider - get the vette.

I would trade it even if the vette didn't have a motor....

a mint 96 v6 camaro is worth like $2500, where the vette is worth quite a bit more in the shape it's in and worth more if you fixed it.

Oh? And what did you do? Drop a lot of money for appearance mods on a V6 Camaro?

Anyway, I vote for keeping the 6-banger. It'll make a better DD (I'm assuming that's what we're talking about). As much respect as I have for Corvettes, the "It's a Vette" reason only works with C5s and up in this generation IMO.

Why do people always treat cars like investments? Not everyone is into a resto project or a collector. It's true that a V6 Camaro is worth the lint in your pocket, but what's the point in bringing that up? 60K is ultra-low for a 10-year-old car!

because if you can straight up trade a car worth $2500 for a car worth more, throw some seat covers on it, detail it and sell it for 7 grand that's a decent profit for a little bit of work...

I wouldn't consider it an investment like letting it sit in a garage collecting dust and not driving it. I'm talking about getting it and turning it for profit.

I love the round tail lights of the L-98 powered Corvettes. I'd love to have a black '89 6 speed, throw on some chrome ZR1's, exhaust, 1.6 roller rockers, a supercharger.... done.

The L98 is a TPI engine....do a few mods and you have 350hp at least depending on what you do. Change the intake system(runners, base, etc), tune it, headers, cam, heads and you will have a stout car. The L98s run mid 14s.

The 3.8L.....you can put a supercharger on it, intercooler, port and polish the heads, throw in a cam and you are talking about 400hp....some are even getting 500hp with a mp112 charger.
