My Formula hits 110 or so almost every time I have it out.

I got my car with crappy H-rated michelin's. I suppose the past owner was a poor person with no lead foot. So the fastest i've gone is 95 racing my friends camaro. Waiting till next year to get new Z rated tires then the fun will be had. I don't think i'll be burrying the needle though thats insane. The fastest i've ever gone was 135 in a 350Z that was pretty slick very stable for the speed but it was a weak pull from 120 on. Can't wait to see what the T/A can do from 100 on it seems like it has alot of top end compaired to the Z.

V8's top speed is also limited to the speed rating of the tires that came on the car. I think all late production V8 Firebirds came with Z rated tires (I know this is true for 2002 models) when I looked at base Z28's Z rated tires were an option so they had base V8 cars that were limited to 124mph. GM wouldn't ship a car with a 162 mph limiter with H rated tires.

my buddy's 3.8L's top speed was ~120 mph
i think a few '98 V8's were limited to ~110 mph or so because of a junk rated tire package or something. forget which rating.

to you guys saying you have never gone over 100 in your F-body, wtf? are you serious. I can't believe you haven't ever mashed it on an open highway to at least like 120. O well, your missing out! Anyways, the fastest I have gone in my car is 145 and I let off b/c I have too many speeding tickets as it is, not to mention 145 is pretty damn fast, I think.
