Thanks Slade, that really puts things into perspective. I didnt think the 9" would put a damper on me that hard but i guess it comes with the territory. Guess i better start saveing for some cams baby.

well the ford 9 inch takes more to turn than it would a gm 12 bolt...9 inch gears are meshed tighter in the carrier...12 bols are meshed looser in the carrier ..ya follow.....plus when i had my 4:10's with no cam i actually ran slower from a roll.....and also those are some snappy gears and even drag radials sometimes like to spinn helplessly and slow you down some ..id check your tires, but i think the gear ratio is made for higher rpm and your stock cam cant hang.mine ran with a semi stock ls2 gto.i had 360 rwhp at the time and thats when i figured 6200 rpm wasnt high enuff for my 410's...YOU NEEEEEEED A CAMSHAFT TO REV TO 6800 RPM AND MAKE PEAK POWER AT 6500 RPM....THEN YOULL FEEL THAT BEAST AGAIN.

SOM stands for Sunset Orange Metallic, one of the colors GM offered for the Camaro.
Did you have 4.11s in your car before you got the 9"??
If not, then you just experienced the loss of top end that comes with going from 3.42 to 4.11. In the 1/4 mile you will see that,as you loose a few mph trap speed. Most cars with 4.10s and higher that have insufficient power usually fall flat on their face after 3rd gear.
