im talking about stock and stock. i came from having an auto car, and this is my first manual. i like how i have a direct connection to my drivetrain rather than have the pcm do the shifting for me. its your opinion which one is better preference for you, and i know you auto guys are biased about manuals. well i know a stalled A4 can whomp *** at the strip, im talking about a stock converter on a stock LS1 on a stock suspension.

thats why i said i feel no difference on pulling power of the 2 engines. and the ONLY way i would tell is having the LS1 M6 because im used to driving the M6 LT1.

and shes not getting a stall in it. she is scared **** of the power lol she came from a scion TC

Ever heard of a manual valve body? You can shift yourself and use a torque converter

know that. look this is my preference on the car... dont like it, dont post. all you A4 guys are gonna be biased against me but seriously... trying to make me religiously worship A4's IN STOCK FORM is a waste of time and key taps.

i know you can mod autos, i know alot of the things you can do to it and what it can do, ive been browsing this website and others for about a year.

anyways back on topic, she is getting the car tomorrow. once she gets it, im throwing the bitch on ramps and checking over everything on the underside. it needs a good cleaning inside the engine bay too, so ill de grease/dust it.

Even a stock A4 LS1 will turn mid 13s No stall? Awww cmon, I feel that a stalled auto gives you more throttle control instead of the on/off feeling of the stocker.

No one said you had to worship anything. A little respect would be nice but you are allowed to have your opinion just as I am allowed mine. No one (especially me) needs your permission to post here. Agree or disagree this is a public forum that is open to anyone who has an account and abides by the ls1tech rules. A4 or M6 alike do not exactly make me fall to my knees in praise so IMO it's stupid to think a "stock M6" is gods gift to anything either. But then again my criteria for praise requires 11.99 or better time slips along with good looks and sound. So I do praise and worship the LS6/LS7 Z06

All that aside, I would at least consider a 2800-3000 stall for her. It's small enough to still act stockish under "normal" driving but just big enough to make you smile ear to ear under WOT. And maybe if you talk her into running her car at a 1/4 mile track then she may just surprise you with a new found hobby. Next year she could be talking heads, cam and a 4000 stall

Good luck with her car.

Dude, you need to chill out a little...no one asked you to worship an A4. You are the one that was talking about how you can't feel the difference between a lt1 and a ls1 through an A4, well, as you can see, many people thought that statement was retarded so we commented on it. That is no reason to start whining about your vagina.

Good Luck with the new car.

The A4/M6 argument will go on till judgment day, but this is the first time I've heard somebody say the LS1 felt the same as an LT1. I've owned both and the torque curve for each is completely different. I don't think they feel anything like each other.

I wouldn't exactly call 50mph top end either. Wait till you feel it pull 70-120. It goes by pretty quick.

Why not put it up on ramps before she buys it?

Just a side note, but presenting the buyer with 60 $100s would be hard to say no to. Money in hand is a hell of a negotiator.

The power probably feels the same because your LT1 is modded, whereas the LS1 your girl is buying is stock.

she got the car, i took the T tops off (dammit, shes 1 step ahead of me) and got on it on the freeway. it scared the **** out of her

shes afraid of driving it more than 1/4 throttle... so i think a stall will be wayy later on. im just gonna get her the SLP lid/loudmouth.

im already contemplating an LS6 intake for it, but she just looks at me like its not my car.

so i have a catfish in my driveway now

Once she gets used to the car, she'll start adding things. After the lid and loudmouth, the stall and drag radials should be next. That's the way that I went.

I certainly am not asking you to worship A4's....I specifically said that M6 will always be more fun. That's my opinion. But my goals at the track dictate that I have the stalled A4 since I don't have tons of cash to replace rearends and clutches.

rear passenger quarter panel is done for, the spoiler/hatch is scratched/bent up/transmission is gone, and leaking, not going into gear.
