Default Under hood temp, base hood vs. fiberglass

I was reading through NBMgreg's thread about the hood liner on the non RA cars, some say the reason is for absorbing heat etc. and it got me thinking. Do base model hooded cars suffer a performance loss from the hood maintaining more heat than a fiberglass hood, increasing under hood temps? Or would it be about equal?
