Mine ranges from 240-275 in the city and well over 300 on the freeway. Never did a full tank of gas on the freeway though so it might have been able to go 350. I avg about 16-18 in town and 22-25 on the freeway.

I'm only on my fourth tank or so, and for the first three, I've gotten just below 21. That's probably 80-85% highway driving and quite a few joyrides for friends since I just got the car. I've always heard that slowing down to 65 on the highway helps a lot so I tried that on this last tank. I babied the heck out of it, never really went over 65 except for a few times passing and got just below 22. Not worth it. Gas has come down some, I finally have the car I've wanted forever, so I'm just going to enjoy it. Oh, it's a 2000 A4.
Couple of questions:
My car is a WS6 clone. It's got the hood and WS6 airbox, but I believe it still has the base T/A exhaust. How much of a difference would a better exhaust and a lid make? Probably minute as far as mileage goes, but just curious.
Also, like 90% of my driving is on the highway commuting to work. It's dark in the mornings when I leave, so 45% or so of my driving is with the lights up. How much do you think that might affect mileage?

I get around 170 per tank, and have a hard time babying it. But I don't constantly race around either. Could it be that I have one newer o2 sensor, and one that might be original at 122k miles?

One quick question. How often do you turn the car off and start it up? That can really kill mileage too. If I make lots of 5 min trips in my truck or in the WS6 I can see the AWEFUL mileage. Like if I have lots of errands to do and they are all just far enough away from each other that I can't walk.

On my Z i just bought im getting awesome gas mileage. Mainly highway miles but i got right at 400 miles to my first tank. I even got on it a little bit testing it out. At 70 mph im at like 1600 rpms. So thats helping alot. Setting the cruise on that and going down I-23 rocks. Gets way better mileage than my RX8 ever thought of.

hey man give a good sea foaming a try.. Then test your mileage again, if you do not know what sea foaming is check the sticky in general maintainance its a step by step write up. But it cleans the motor and everything out and gets rid of the carbon build up inside your engine. Try it and then let us know if it help any..

**** I got 14-17 MPG in my stock 99 a4 with 3.23's all city never any highway and always short trips, like 6 miles longest usually! Of course there is some WOT like maybe 2 or 3 times a day with switching gears at 2k rpms when not WOTing. I never knew o2 sensors would make such a big deal!? O and another thing does oil effect gas mileage? Like 5w30 over 10w30 or something? just wondering.

I get around 230 a tank. Almost all is city driving, about 90% of it. Almost all these trips are less than 4 miles. It averages to about 19mpg. I used to get around 15 mpg until I got my predator, that really helped out a lot.
