Default Christmas THREAT..

Hello, i just want to say in advance thanks to everyone for helping me.. OK heres the deal. MY gf and i are talking about Xmas.. and she says that if i dont tell her what to get me shes not getting me anything. she already had a gift picked out (2 ipods and an ipod turn table thing) but from the subtle clues i figured it out. she knows i know. so heres where the question comes in: What performance part can i get for around 500 that will add hp. i know i cant just slap anything on.. thats why im asking the experts..YOU... thanks..

30-35hp:
Ebay LT stainless headers for $350 shipped
Lid w/ filter: $150

75-150hp:
Nitrous kit for $400-$500 *used* with accessories and new spark plugs

Personally, I'd go with the nitrous kit. More horsepower, car will still sound/look stock, and when you sell your car, you can uninstall it and noone will know the difference. However if you plan on adding a cam/heads/blower/etc, headers would put you one step in that direction.

I wouldnt go with nitrous, because as you said, you will have to refill the bottle everytime you use it up. Therefore you wont always have the extra HP.

I would go with some LTs, maybe a nice cam. if its an LS1 then you can go up to a LS6 intake, unless its already got one. or if you dont already have one you can get a free flowing catback. my $.02

Dont Get Nitrous

Pacesetter ORY means Off Road Y-pipe, meaning there are no cats. You have headers, to the Y pipe, to your Loudmouth. You'll need O2 sims to keep from getting a check engine light. Personally, I'd prefer the catted Y-pipe from Pacesetter. It's what I have and am waiting to get put in. But thats because in NJ we have a tougher emissions check, with visual exhaust. If your state does NOT have a visual check, then you might be able to pass emissions with O2 simulators. Of course, the catted Y costs almost as much as the headers did - $390 for headers, $350 for catted Y. The ORY is only $130. Also, if you do get LTs, and plan on running cats, make sure they're the ones with the O2 bungs already installed, or get them yourself.

I've never had a cam installed, but I'm sure it's not cheap. I'm guessing $400, give or take, but that's a shot in the dark.

A4 or M6?

Do you have any mods installed all ready?

It would be a lot easier to give you the most bang for the buck advice if you could answer these two questions first.

Tornado and don't look back! You can do a cam and valvetrain for around 500 if you find a good used hydraulic cam.

that was a serious joke. I thought that you might know more about cars.

Anyway M6 and A4 are another way of saying Manual 6 Speed and Automatic 4 Speed Transmissions.
