Default Looking into buying a C5 Z06 as a DD...realistic?

Hey guys right now I have a h/c/i/nitrous/trans/rear (soon to be turbo) foxbody, and Im looking into something as a DD. I really really love LS1's and I like vetts a lot, I heard that you can get C5 Z06's for like 28k, if this is true, I really want one for a DD, how realistic is this for a daily driver? What kinda gas milage can you expect to get stock with a 6 spd? Does the gas milage go to **** when you start to do serious mods, like cam etc.?

Thanks for the info guys!

Oh yeah heres pics of the fox if your interested heh.

ya c5's will be fine as a DD and they really dont get bad gas mileage at all i mean some people on here are getting into the 30's. and high teens in the city. but being a 6 speed you will get good MPG but when you start modding it doesn't really get any worse not too much anyway just depends where your foots at

I dont think you will have any problems using the c5 z06 as a daily if you wanted to. I dont have any first hand experience but from what I hear they are very streetable. BTW all z06s are 6 speeds...

That would be a great DD. And I bet you might even be able to find one cheaper than 28,500. Good Luck!

A Z06 for a daily driver will be fine. I've got an 03 vert as a daily driver except in the snow. I'm in rush hour traffic so I opted for an auto. I've averaged almost 23 mpg over the past 3400 miles in mixed driving - 60% highway/40% city. I've got the Z51 pkg so I've got the 3.15 performance axle. The Z06 has a 3.42 axle but with the 6-speed you should get 28-30 on the highway and probably 21-22 in town.

Harsh isn't really the right word, crappy shocks and cut springs in an f-body would be harsh, firm would be better suited!

C5 would be a nice DD unless you live where it snows
