That sucks man. Sorry 'bout your car. I had a bad year in '78 with my brand new TA. It was 3 weeks old when I ran into the back of a Grand Prix in a 5 car pile-up. Hood flew up, passenger door suck, T-top buckled... A cop witnessed it, I did not get a ticket. Took 8 weeks to fix. About a month later, I took my future wife on our second date, and when we came out of the club, my TA was side swiped down the drivers side from wheel to wheel, the mirror laying on the ground. 4 days later in another parking lot, before it went into the body shop, it got a soccer ball size dent on the same side, but between the rear wheel and bumper. 2 weeks after I got the car back, I was racing my buddy in his Datsun 240Z, when I ran over a muffler in the road at 110 mph. That took off the rear wheel trim, and dented the same panel behind the rear wheel. Oh yea, while it was in the shop, I borrowed my mom's Cordova, and some idiot ran into the passenger door! All this happened between June and October of '78. In '79 the TA was keyed in a parking lot and stolen from my appartment lot. I got it back with no major damage. I didn't mean to hijack your thread, I got carried away.

Ever wonder why they call them accidents? I bet it has something to do with the fact that people don't usually hit another car on purpose. So if someone hits you (by accident) your natural reaction would be to start a fight. This is of course a very smart thing to do for three reasons.

1). You might just pick the wrong person and end up getting your *** kicked. In which case he can legally claim self defense since you swung first.

2). You might kick his *** and feel a little better for a moment. Then along comes a cop to do the accident report and low and behold you discover you have a date with Buba in county lockup.

3). You might kick his *** and take off before he can get your license plate. In this scenario you now have to pay for your own vehicles damage that was caused by someone else.

Looks like "whooping his ***" would be a real smart thing to do

Sorry to hear about the accident dirtybird22. Good luck.

That does suck man! It seems like stupid drivers are coming out of the woodwork here. I almost hate driving now cuz of all the idiots I see on the road everyday who have no clue what they are doing. I was sitting in a restaurant a while back with a friend, and we had both parked our cars in the middle of an empty parking lot. This freakin idiot in a beater parked his car right next to mine, and slammed his door right into my passenger side rear quarter panel. He told me that he didn't do it when my friend and I both called him a liar, and I had to get the police up there to get him to give me his insurance. I almost kicked his a$$, and I would now if I could find him cuz the SOB gave me an insurance company that doesn't exist.

^^^ that would suck, i know where this kid lives and works and goes to school so if he tries to pull something i got it covered, i talked to the ajuster and he said the value that they total my car is at around $2500 so if he scrached my hood then i guess my car will be totaled and i will be gettin a 4th gen ls1

Dang....only $200 away from being totaled huh? That's cutting it pretty close. Maybe you should entice them to total it...haha. Not really. You don't wanna be dishonest about it, but it would be nice if you could get a newer car out of the deal.
