Default Can the colored primer be purchased?

I'd like to do a few mods underhood that will require me to do a little painting. I don't want to disassemble the car and bc/cc. I'd rather just match the colored primer that is already on my car. Does anyone know if it is available?

Pop your hood and look at the flat paint that GM sprayed all the f-bodies with....that's what I'm looking for and it's color-matched to the cars final paint color.

its not actually a primer, its an actual paint, if you want that color go to a body shop or auto body supply retailer and ask them for the paint code for under hood on you car.... im sure you can get some paint for pretty cheap..... gm did some stupid ship and made different paint colors for under hood on there cars... it seems like the biggest difference is on alot of the metallic cars like pewter, they dont have much pearl if any in them

Thanks. I just called it a "primer" because it's a flat color. All the fourth-gen f-bodies use a flat paint underhood and on all the interior & underside metal.

The engine bay looks like it's just basecoat with no clear. I would have your local paint dealer put some of your WA basecoat in an aerosal can and then you try a test panel or, just pick up a pint if you have a gun.

And to answer your question, you can get colored epoxy primers/sealers but, I'm not sure if they can color match to a WA code. It would probrably depend on the brand.
