Default Fair price to change a trans and engine?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a camaro, and want a 6spd, but came across a really good deal on an LT1 B4C with an auto. Does anyone know what a good shop quote would be, labor only, to convert the car to manual and do an engine swap? I would just like a ballpark figure when I'm talking to shops. I was thinking 10 to 20 hours for the whole thing?

Thanks for the advice.

if your buying a lt1..stick with it...swapping to a ls1 is pointless, both engines have a lot of potential. Buy a ls1 car if you want a ls1.

My friend owns DFW modded's shop. She pulled her motor in 8 hours by herself and that is damn impressive considering she pulled it through the TOP. That is just to pull the motor...and thats ACTUAL hours, GM quotes it as a 14 hour job IIRC. Then you must consider the stuff to swap it over, the pcm, the wiring, omg the pain, my head hurts, I get enough algebra in college man.

hey guys i'm sorry, i meant swap the transmission to manual. i'd like an ls1, but an lt1 would be fine i wouldn't change it over. my bad, i should have pointed that out since it's ls1tech and not lt1tech. i was considering one of those golen engine service 383s.

i was thinking 800-1600 ballpark for labor myself, thanks for the advice guys.

just to drop and replace a tranny, they usually charge 400ish in labor. You firgure a couple more hours to change things over, I wouldn't think more than 800 or so. You should research this though, you may need a different ecu for a m6. I don't know much, check the manual tranny forum cause they have a stick how swapping from auto to m6.
