New York State Police tent to get rid of their B4Cs after they hit about 100,000mi. Once that hits you need to have a dealer license in order to go to the auction to purchase 1. My 96 had a cracked bell housing which was replaced by the guy i bought it from. It had 103,000 on the clock when i picked it up. the 94 had 93,000 and the carrier bearings were bad. about a month after blueb4c bought it the head gaskit went. both cars showed definite signs of use and abuse. My 96 however was quite reliable and didn't have any problems with it. I drove it to 136,000 before it got totaled would have kept going a lot further too!

i know this was a really old post as well, but its not entirely true. Not all B4C camaros were stock. they made 18 original red hard top B4C cars and 10 of them were factory GMMG cars with the stage III 427 so technically they all arent stripped. my 02 B4C is number 5 of the 18 they built and its actually a 6 speed cloth car with power options. its one of 2 made with those exact options.

Just wanted to clarify that not all B4C's were just debadged Z28's

Default My B4C

Its a Z-28 that looks like a V-6,
4l60E ( mine has been rebuilt 2 stage and shift points tuned
Suspension- harder durameter bushings like the 1Le (i use Moog)
Rearend - Crap 10 bolt - replaced with 12 bolt moser detriot true track 30 spline axles 3.73 motive (3 serier carrier)
most shbox mods done (moderate level difficulty)
rebraced front end with sheet metal, nice and firm steering.
Jet tune
SLP loudmouth 2 with a magnaflow resonator, high flow cats
Btw, mine is a "stripper" its hollowed out above the driver and passenger side
Composite fenders keep it light as well as the Aluminum block

So with all that being said it does 0-60 in 4.2 seconds ALL DAY long and makes for a great daily driver that i can beat the hell out of. Does not smoke the tires though, 1 spin and it takes off. Flashes right at 6k in low in a split second, kinda scary, don't want bent pushrod.
When i race these new stangs they allways have this funny smile on the face after, lol. pretty even allthough those 5.0 are fast as **** and make you earn it.

My 1994 B4C was ordered new from the factory by an individual so not all of them were Police cars and definitely weren't "stripped" z28's. Mine came with just about every option available for the year and is a 6 speed. It has a little over 45k miles and I'm the 3rd owner

Best not to criticize unless you have the correct information yourself. There is no B4C specific transmission, nor did any 4th gen Camaro receive a 5.3L from the factory at any trim level or with any package.

On that note, let's put this ancient thread to bed!
