Sweet, the big day is almost here, don't worry there will be videos, the camcorder is charging and I just bought some "Professional Grade" panasonic tapes for it
And myk02k if you are referring to smog checks like in California we don't have them here in NY....yet. If and when it does happen I will find a way around it, no one is going to tell me what I can and can't do to MY car, sorry for the rant.
I am going to be putting the car in the shop tomorrow and ripping everything down so when my buddies get here all we have to do is pull the cam out put the springs on put everything back together and start her up

i think it can be done in one day if you know exactly what you are doing. my first time it took several days, but it was trying to do it right. and yes, that cam will sound sick as ****. i have the same cam as homegrown and i have LTs and a cutout. havent heard anything louder or meaner to date....

Well I got a small jump on it because I had a couple hours to kill today so I put it in the shop, drained the coolant, disconnected all the hoses to the engine, took all the intake stuff off and got the driver's side coil pack and valve cover off and got stuck on the passenger side rear bolt for the coil pack.........30 minutes later I gave up for the day.

I swear the same mental midget at GM who designed the optispark decided to cover the valvecover bolts with the coil pack brakets and then position that last coil pack bolt so that it can never be reached. I mean damn do you really need 5 bolts to hold the coil packs in place I can tell you its going back on my car with 4 on that side.

Yeah you & half this site, myself included. I had a small baggie of things that I felt were unnecessary to reinstall

hahaha yea that thing sucked. it took some time for me to get if off when i put my headers on. finally got it out with a good gear wrench. I myself just started my cam/springs/oil pump/ timing chain install, and god was i glad that i left that rear coil pack bolt out!!

It's in and sounds GOOD Video is here : http://video.ls1tech.com/video/4df99...8c01667ce5.htm

sorry for the quality and my buddy talking, it was friggin cold out and I was in a hurry to get inside and warm up. I got some good videos on my camcorder but am too tired to upload them tonight so you get one off of the digital camera.

SO the whole project went sort of smoothly aside from losing the nut off of one of the valvespring compressor tools inside a hole in the passenger side head.......looked for it for an hour or 2 all around the K member and in the header wrap and on the floor and all before B4CZR2 found it wedged in there. Put us WAY behind, the rest went nice a smooth though.

Oh and I just wanna say thanks to my buddies Jeff (Hazard2k) and James (B4CZR2) for all the help with the cam install woulda taken a lot longer without you guys, and would have been a lot more boring cheers

even with the few minor set backs we had i still enjoyed installing the cam! It was fun. Next time we do an install im sure it will take less time! If only there were a better way to install the springs you could shave off a third of the time i bet. as for the skin on my knuckles... i managed to keep some. Well next project... my LT1!!! I cannot and will not be left in the dust!! This is why friends and especially friends with cars go broke and end up divorced... Cheers

Hey Matt... sorry about dropping that nut down there! If the damn oil dipstick didnt knock it out of my hand it wouldn't have gone down there! At least we got the intake and everything all cleaned out by taking it off That is the last time I am doing a set of springs on our cars... 4 sets is enough for me! Someone else needs to learn how to do them and get the tools now

Now when does that warm weather come back again?
