first of all thanks for all the replies, i really appreciate any input. second i know that the technical jargon is like me reading chinese it just dont happen, i have a friend at work that can drive very well. but when i start talking cam lift and duration and valve sizes he doesnt really get it. and at school when i start talking about cars in general i get confused looks when talking about changing a spare tire or changing oil. i just want to write about something i know anything about.

It all began tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of years ago.

Basic competitiveness. The thrill of the win, whether ten thousand years ago by not getting eaten by that bear (whose skin now graces the cave) or winning the race in the first Olympics, or even going into that modern den of iniquity (the Friday Night Bar) and coming out with the hottest babe on your arm.

We tickle our competive bone by enjoying the power of our rides, modding them for more power, and by cruising the streets hoping some weenie with a VTEC throws us a rev.

Man's basic need to compete.

I write papers for my classes whenever possible related to cars. I even wrote a persuasive paper once on why they should reopen the drag strip in Colchester to reduce street racing on the berlin turnpike.

I guarantee you that you will not get a good grade if you put LS1tech as one of your sources...

This reminds me of the time I wrote a high car related research paper in HS. The teacher tried to fail the **** out of me cause I told her a lot of the technical jargon etc was my own knowledge (which it was) and she thought it was BS. After about 20 minutes of explaining to her about 4 cycle engine combustion catalytic converters, fuel pressure and maf sensors etc. she cut me off cause she didn't want to hear anymore and gave me an A
