When is enough, enough??? So I have a cam sitting at home and I was just thinking, you can't ever do just one mod. While it's going in, might as well do an intake and maybe heads, now I'm going to need a clutch etc. Then why not up the shot, well then I need the fuel system to support it, you guys know how it goes. When is enough, enough? I saw this gorgeous red ZO6 for sale today and while I could mod the hell out of my car to smoke the Z it will still never be a corvette. Not trying to whine just doing some thinking. Thoughts?

Welcome to the vicious cycle of modding... I am doing cam in the spring, but I have to do lifters because I have 103k miles... while I'm doing the lifters since the heads are off, hell why not throw on some PRCs... while I'm at it, I HAVE to do the LS6 intake, boohoo... damn all the new power, new clutch... new tires... more suspension to hook... I love it I couldn't imagine NOT modding a car 
Sure at this point I could probably have just saved my money and bought one nice car, but the road to get there is fun as hell (IMO). You want the Z, sell yours and buy the Z, only one stopping you is you

I thought going from a cammed Grand Cherokee to a small cam only car would be enough until about 5 months and Iput a huge cam and better intake on it. Now I am looking at heads and a shot. it never stops.

Forgot the exact specs but the cam is a .600ish lift cam, not sure on duration.
Nah I know what you mean, two of my friend's have a 630whp Viper and one's putting the final touches on an 800whp Supra... Granted their cars aren't down very much, but I know exactly what you mean

i think enough is enough when a person can no longer handle the power of the car he or she is driving. for some of us, its a 1000 hp drag car, for others( like the vid a few months ago), it was a 15 year old and his dads new cobra. when a person no longer has the skill to drive safely his own vehicle, that is when enough it enough. till then its just time and money.
its never enough, u want a camaro, then a vette, then a porche, then ferrari, then a lambo, then a S7, then a bugatti. so i suppose if i had a 1.3million dollar 1000hp bugatti, then ill be happy

It may never be enough... you get the cam, the intake, the clutch, then a rearend b/c you granaded your stock one when you sent it over the edge with all the extra HP. The limit is only your imagination. If you enjoy modding your car, its worth it. When you only care about what your car is and what it looks like to the rest of the world like an image thing, then modding may not be for you but instead just moving on to the next ride untill you want the next best thing. We all would love to have that "nicer" car, we always want something better. After all that way we mod our cars to begin with. I love my car, sure right now it may not be much and might not be able to beat everything on the street (theres always someone faster), but its my car and nobody elses.
I miss my 96, even though the 94 has its interior, its still different. I love my 94 too. Each car I have had reminds me of something, and for that is why i suppose makes it special. Which would make it hard for me to get rid of them and therefore only having to improve what it is by modding.

Here's the good old "MIGHT AS WELL" syndrome. It's cost me and almost everybody I know a lot, Im mean ALOT of $$$$. My new game plan is to spend half as much on mods as i bought the car for. IE 25K for my 2002 ws6 that means 12.5k in mods.
When I realized I wanted a Vette more than I wanted to keep my Camaro, I stopped modding. I'm pretty satisfied with just a catback, shifter, lid, and some appearance stuff. I only drive it ~7000 miles a year, and it's paid off. If I didn't live in the middle of San Francisco, I'd probably get the Vette now, but I'll wait til I live somewhere else, hopefully Huntington Beach or San Diego in the coming years.
