The thing with car and driver is that they post their average 0-60 and quarter mile times. They do the calculations to compensate for every little thing, sea level, temperature, track temperature, all done with laptops and gps systems. I read this a while back, some guy wrote to them and asked the same question. I think most people would rather just know what their fastest time was. period.

car and driver's times sux. i am at some crazy *** elavation (4200) and ran a 14.2 bone stock.
by the way 350's are dogs campared to ls1 in stock form. i took one out from a dig by 5 lenths with 3 pass ranging from 200-150lbs
