Default NNnnoooooo!!!

Sigh* here is what happened...

...A "P1415 AIR System (Bank 1)" is what caused this to occur, it is a DTC and DTC Pending code. Help... Is this the A.I.R. Emission system? Will the dealership fix for free since I am under 80K miles? If not, what is wrong, how much? Who when what where how? Thanks guys! (PS, is driving it like this hurting anything?)

Oh...any particular cause for this thing to break, whatever it is? Is this common?

lol and so it begins.

dealership will take care of it, but it just may be a leak in the AIR system, or its plugged up with carbon.

AIr is part of emissions, it runs oxygen into the exhaust before the cat(s) to help heat them up faster. it only works when the engine starts up, or reaches a certain temp.

well depends on the word "free"

dont use it too loosely around dealerships.

it may be the $80/hr diagnostic. plus TO fix it.

What I mean is, is it covered under the 80K mile factory emmissions warrenty? (EVERYTHING should be free if it is according to my last visit)

the car is probably pissed at you since you were complaining about it being unreliable too much.

I don't think anyone here can tell you if it's common. Most people remove the AIR system long before it has a chance to break....right along with the cats.

Get some non-emissions longtubes and remove all that crap. Then have the AIR turned off with a tune.

Lol, here we go again. Just take of the AIR yourself, block it off and get the codes shut of. Problem solved!

I would rather have it fixed properly. I have been trying to keep the car OEM and if I move to a STRICT emmissions place after college it would be nice not to worry about it.

I dont mind replacing it myself if its not free for the dealer to do so, but I do want it fixed correctly. Every automotive project I have had has come off damn clean and I dont want this one to be different. Hell, I had the inspection officers thinking my car came stock with a carb on it when I had that 5.0. At least when I said "some were carbed" no eyebrows went up...werd

Why would they fix it for free? 80k/8 years is for catalytic converters.

It is probably just a $2 air check valve which takes less than 5 mins to replace. You hung out on these boards for a long time before you bought the car, you should know not to freak out over the little common problems that they all have.

hes like tweak from southpark

just check the AIR system out and make sure the pump is working and getting air to bank 1, then it more than likely is the check valve.
